| CheckWorks,
Inc. Announces Multi-Function Image Assistant
Atlanta, GA – March 7, 2000 – CheckWorks,
Inc. announces the general availability of its Multi-Function
Image Assistant (MIA) software for image-enabled check
processing customers. MIA provides sophisticated check
image viewing and processing functions. The software
is composed of two parts:
- A multi-platform, JAVA-based workstation client
for viewing check images on personal computers.
- A mainframe-based TCP/IP server that interfaces
to the Check Solutions Check Image Management
System (CIMS) image database.
|
The key features of MIA are:
- The ability to retrieve CIMS images from a
Windows workstation. The IBM Check Processing
Control System (CPCS) is not required to be
active, and no resource drain is added to CPCS.
- The simplicity of installing MIA on a workstation.
Workstation setup can be performed in minutes
by end-users without waiting for assistance
from technical support departments.
- An Internet Browser based viewing application.
By making use of a standard browser, such as
Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, MIA
is portable to other platforms.
- An interface to the Check Solutions Image
Delivery System (IDS) cross reference file.
This allows access, via a powerful search engine,
to the images and MICR line information captured
in an IDS environment.
- Extensive image viewing options (front, back,
gray-scale, etc.) as well as the ability to
print or fax an image, or store an image to
disk using industry standard formats such as
JPG, TIF, GIF, etc.
|
| The initial
release of MIA is in use by several departments
in the co-development site. Phase two development
of MIA, now in progress, expands functionality for
bank departments and provides an interface for external
bank customers. |
In summary, MIA is a leading edge check
image viewing system for CPCS/HPTS environments that
provides product features and user-maintainability not
available anywhere else. |
