Enabling of On-Line Reconcilement Banking System (ORBS)™
Demonstration given at CONIX SYSTEMS User Conference
Orlando, FL – Sept. 26, 2000
– CheckWorks, Inc. of Georgia, and CONIX
Systems, Inc., today announced Image Enabling software
for CONIX’s On-Line Reconcilement Banking System
(ORBS)™ system. This joint effort between CheckWorks
and CONIX brings state-of-the-art image viewing and
manipulation functions to ORBS™ balancing operators.
As shown in the live demonstration at CONIX’s
annual User Conference in Orlando, Florida, this solution
allows an ORBS™ operator to display a check image
on their Windows™ workstation by simply clicking
an Icon on the screen or by pressing a Function key
on their keyboard. Image Enabled ORBS™ operators
will realize a significant productivity gain while greatly
improving the accuracy of reconcilement adjustments.
The development of this interface has been a joint effort
between CheckWorks and CONIX Systems. CheckWorks is
providing the "Image Viewer" software, which
contains Image retrieval, Image viewing, and Image manipulation
functions, while CONIX is providing the necessary information
from its products and the PC Workstation interface to
enable the Image Viewer to retrieve the image of the
desired check.
CheckWorks and CONIX plan to expand this "image
enabling" function to other CONIX products where
the operator is researching specific check information,
such as CONIX’s On-Line String Inquiry (OLSI)™
system.
"CONIX Systems, Inc., selected CheckWorks as a
partner company to develop this unique software because
of their experience in developing Windows™ based
image retreival software. Adding image capability to
our products will allow our customers to obtain the
advantages of using check images without requiring operators
to learn new software, systems and procedures",
said Mike Charles, President/CEO of CONIX Systems, Inc.
ORBS™ and SuPRRB™ Balancing Operators will
research and process work as they do now, then instantly
confirm their research with an image of the check. This
is a great increase in productivity for our clients."
"As institutions migrate to an image enabled check
processing environment, it is vital that main-stream
functions, such as reconcilement, are redefined to meet
the new demands of the market," said Brian Heiss,
CheckWorks Inc. Executive Vice President and software
architect.
"The migration of image capabilities in the check
processing world has driven financial institutions and
software vendors alike to find more and more ways to
take advantage of check images," added Allan Edmonds,
President of CheckWorks, Inc. of Georgia. "The
strategic alliance between CONIX Systems and CheckWorks
is a great example of two specialist providers coming
together to create a significant value-add for their
clients."
